Roger Billsdon

I'm a Chartered Engineer who has become fascinated by the challenges of designing and developing CAE software for specialist engineering applications. I graduated from Aston University, trained at Marconi Radar Systems and worked at Hymatic Engineering as a Chief Production Engineer. I then escaped from the rigours of managing people to do an MBA at Warwick University.

Since the late 1970's I've undertaken CAE consultancy and software development assignments for companies in the UK, France, Germany and USA. I've had papers on a variety of CAE issues published by The Daily Telegraph, Computing and Control Engineering Journal and Professional Engineering and I've also presented papers at a number of conferences. I've designed and developed CAE software to help the design of electrical wiring harnesses, process plant, warehouse racking, etc.

I designed and developed most of the HarnWare, HarnVis and HarnConnect wiring harness design systems for Tyco Electronics. This software is now used in over 500 companies in 42 countries around the world.
