Williams Fairey

We helped Williams Fairey Engineering to select and implement a Medusa CAD system in the early 1980's. The system included 2D draughting, 3D modelling, parametric design and drawing analysis modules. We also developed software to automate certain drawing, 3D modelling, parametric design and parts listing operations.

Given the CAE hardware and software that was available at the time, it was a significant achievement for Williams Fairey to be able to generate 3D models of the complexity illustrated in this example. This helped them demonstrate the extent of their design capabilities to potential customers and to market their services. As a result a number of important design contracts were won against stiff competition from other engineering design consultancies.
